Emily Bear is a certified prevention specialist (CPS) at Lane County, focusing on substance abuse prevention. Emily works with team members in planning and implementing the Lane County alcohol and drug prevention work plan. She enjoys collaborating with advisory groups and with community partners on issues at the local and state level.
Emily graduated from Portland State University with a Master’s in Public Health Management and Policy with an emphasis in community health and health promotion. Before joining the Prevention Program she taught Health Education at Portland Community College and worked as a research assistant at Portland State University.
She was born and raised in Lane County and loves participating in all the outdoor activities the Pacific Northwest has to offer including coffee, camping, hiking, and biking. However her one true love is powerlifting. Emily currently lives in Eugene with her two dogs and her terrarium collection.
