Increasing bet amounts when gambling in order to achieve the desired excitement (“high”)

Restless or irritable when not gambling

“Chasing” losses with more gambling

Lying about the extent of gambling

Borrowing money, using financial aid money or other needed money, or committing crimes to finance gambling

Missing classes, work, or social events because of gambling

Relying on others to bail him or her out— family members, roommates, friends, or others– to relieve a desperate financial situation caused by gambling
